Here's some information you might find interesting about Tiny Ackerman, from his granddaughter:
"He owned a pretty exclusive shoe store called Tiny Ackerman on Central Ave in Cedarhurst NY from the 50s to the early 70s. I was very small then, but I remember going there. Tiny, haha, he was about 6'6". Great guy, passed in 1977. I'm doing some family research and came across your listing, wow. His father (my great-granfather) also had a shoe store on Second Ave in NYC, waaaay back, ca. 1930s, so I guess it was a "family" business."
